A device for the stepped vertical adjustment of the upper fastening and deflecting fitting for the shoulder belt of a safety-belt system in motor vehicles consists of a guide rail attached to a vehicle-body part and having a guide slot and recesses, into which associated blocking bosses of a sliding piece carrying the fitting engage under spring pressure. The adjustment of the fitting has hitherto been carried out manually by a movement of the sliding piece into the interior of the guide rail and by a subsequent displacement in the longitudinal direction of the rail. This presents the problem of the automatic release of the sliding piece in the rail, for example when lateral impact forces act on the vehicle. The object of the invention is, therefore, reliably to prevent unintentional releases and displacements of the fitting. For this, the sliding piece (11) has blocking bosses (24) which are movable oppositely to one another transversely relative to the guide rail (10) and which can be actuated via pressbuttons (23) projecting laterally from the carrier part (17) of the sliding piece (11). <IMAGE> |
