PURPOSE:To reduce the cost required for drying or preheating a receiving ladle and to improve working environment, by placing a cover burner and gas discharging holes on the upper part of the ladle, and preheating air for combustion by the heat of the waste gas. CONSTITUTION:A cover 6 is placed hermetically in the mouth part 5 of a ladle 4. A burner 7 is provided in the central part of the cover 6 and is projected into the ladle 4; at the same time, gas discharging holes 8 are formed to the cover 6, and heat exchanges 9 are mounted in the upper part of the holes 8. Fuel is supplied from the burner 7 and is fired, and secondary air is fed from an annular duct 10 through branches 11, dampers 12 and the heat exchanger 9 into secondary air conduit holes 13 so as to be used for combustion of the fuel. The waste gas generated by the combustion preheats the secondary air from the exchangers 9 when the gas is discharged through the holes 8. Since the secondary air supplied to the burner 7 is heated to about 400-450 deg.C by said mechanism, the excess fuel required for gasification of the fuel is reduced. |
