PURPOSE:To enable to record with a color gradation approximate to that of natural colors, by a method wherein ink droplets jetted from a plurality of nozzles having difference aperture diameters for each ink are superposed on each other on a paper, and the number of ink droplets jetted into a unit area is simultaneously controlled. CONSTITUTION:In a charge quantity control type ink jet color printer for printing in four colors of yellow, cyan, magenta and black, a plurality (three, in the figure) of nozzles 1a-1c having different aperture diameters are provided in ink nozzle parts 1-4 for each color, ink droplets having different diameters are jetted from the nozzle parts 1-4, a fixed electric charge is imparted to the ink droplets by charging electrodes 5, and the droplets are deflected by deflecting electrodes 6 impressed with a fixed high voltage. The ink droplets must be electrically charged for each of dots having different particle diameters. Therefore, the charging electrodes 5 are provided for each of the ink nozzles ports 1a-1c, and electrical charging is conducted by selecting the droplets so as to obtain the same phase. |
