摘要 PURPOSE:To suppress the friction which may cause mechanical vibrations to the minimum by applying surface treatment to the inner peripheral surface of a roller or a tripod shaft in place of the surface treatment having been so far applied to the outer peripheral surface of the roller in a tripod joint. CONSTITUTION:Three tripod shafts extending radially are fixed at an equal angle apart from each other to the opening end of a cylindrical bell 5 with a bottom fixed to a rotary shaft 1 of a tripod joint, and a trunnion unit 6 is provided in one body to the intersection of each shaft 3. On the other hand, a cylindrical portion 4 with a bottom is formed on another rotary shaft 2, and each tripod shaft 3 is inserted into a tulip groove 9 formed on the tulip portion 4, and both 3 and 9 are connected to each other so as to be capable of transmitting power through a roller 11 coupled with the tripod shaft 3. In this case, surface treatment such as phosphating using, e.g., ''Lubrite'' is applied only to the inner peripheral surface 17 of the roller 11, thus preventing the friction of a tulip groove inner surface 19 of a tulip groove which may occur when the surface treatment is applied to the outer peripheral surface 10 of the roller 11.
