摘要 PURPOSE:To make an engine so as not to produce knocking over a wide range of motion even in time of trouble happening in a crank angle sensor, by igniting the engine with frequency commensurate to the signal of a knocking sensor when the crank angle sensor goes wrong. CONSTITUTION:When a crank angle sensor 6 goes wrong, either a unit angle signal S1 or a reference angle signal S2 or both are no longer outputted. This phenomenon is discriminated by a central processing unit 2 and a selector signal S8 turning to a high level in time of trouble happening is outputted. An oscillator 11 outputs a pulse signal S7 of frequency commensurate to the signal of a knocking sensor 20. A selection circuit 2 is one that outputs an ignition signal S9 in place of the pulse signal S7 when the crank angle sensor 6 fails to output an ignition signal S5 of its own due to trouble. With this, even in time of anything unusual in the crank angle sensor, constant driving can be kept on without any knocking over a wide range of motion.
