For the purpose of producing copies of varying format, an electrostatic copier has a plurality of storage containers (22, 36) for sheet-shaped copy carriers. At least the storage container (22) for the largest copy carrier format is arranged, for the purpose of saving space, perpendicularly on the copier and equipped with a suction extraction device (24) which engages through a lateral opening of the storage container. The storage container (22) can be brought into a horizontal position, its surface (22c) serving as a bearing surface for feeding in copy carriers by hand.
