PURPOSE:To securely separate and supply screws, by a method wherein stopping and separating pawls respectively for head parts and shank parts of screws orderly arranged by hanging on a chute are provided, and are reciprocated in a direction orthogonal to the traveling direction of the screws. CONSTITUTION:The head part of the foremost screw 19 reaching a separator 12 while being fed on the chute 11 is momentarily stopped by an upper stopping pawl 26, while the shank part is momentarily stopped by a lower stopping pawal 27. Then, an air cylinder 24 is moved in the direction of an arrow D, tips of upper and lower separating pawls 28, 29 enter between the foremost screw 19 and the second screw 19a, and further by the operation of the cylinder 24, the head part and the shank part of the screw 19 are pressed respectively by slanted surfaces 28a, 29a of the upper and lower separating pawls 28, 29, and are pushed into a U-shaped groove 13a of a catch 13. The head part and shank part of the second screw 19a are stopped respectively by end faces 28b, 29b of the pawls 28, 29. Then, the cylinder 24 is moved in the direction of an arrow E to supply the next screw. Accordingly, separation and supply can be secured. |
