PURPOSE:To monitor abnormality of bearing load while the shaft remains in direct coupling by providing the shaft with parts with asymmetric rigidities about the axis of the shaft and by sensing abnormality through measurement of the amplitude of shaft vibration in the neighborhood of bearing at a revolving speed half the critical speed of shaft system. CONSTITUTION:The shaft 20 of a rotor is provided with parts 21 with asymmetrical rigidities. In order to sense abnormality of the bearing load, the rotary machine concerned is started and the amplitude of shaft vibration, when the number of revolutions attains half the critical speed, is sensed by an amplitude sensor 23. Then the value obtained is put into comparison to know if it lies within the allowable range of amplitude values set by a peak value comparator circuit 24, and if this range is dislocated a signal is emitted to actuate the alarm 25. |
