PURPOSE:To prevent toner filming and to obtain a superior image, by adding an org. peroxide to a butadiene polymer contg. a specified proportion of 1,2-polybutadiene units or more, or its derivative, covering carrier core particles with said resin, and heat-hardening it. CONSTITUTION:A butadiene polymer contg. >=50% 1,2-polybutadiene units in the polymer chain or its deriv. having the first OH group of COOH group on both terminals of the polymer chain, having 10,000-200,000 number average mol.wt. is dissolved together with 0.1-10pts.wt. org. peroxide, such as dicumyl peroxide, per 100pts.wt. of said polymer or its deriv. in trichloroethylene or the like to obtain a varnish. Carrier core material, such as iron powder having, e.g., 100-200mum average particle diameter is coated with this varnish, after drying, it is heat hardened to obtain a carrier having 0.1-10mum thick coats of the hardened resin. This carrier has strong negative chargeability, reduces toner scattering remarkably, preventing break or the like of the coat layers, and toner filming. |
