PURPOSE:To contrive to prevent erroneous turning-OFF of head lamps during traveling, by providing a means for discriminating whether or not the vehicle is stopped through the vehicle speed, a means for the discrimination through the condition where a hand brake is used or through a engine rotation speed equal to or smaller than a predetermined frequency, and lamp ON-OFF controller for turning the head lamps OFF when the former two means generate outputs. CONSTITUTION:A head lamp ON-OFF circuit 5 is controlled by the logical product of an output signal generated from a stoppage-discriminating circuit 3 through a vehicle speed detecting circuit 1 and an output signal from a detecting circuit 7 for the use of the hand brake. The circuit 1 is comprised of a vehicle speed sensor 11 and a detecting circuit 13, the sensor 11 outputs a pulse row A with a width according to the vehicle speed, while the circuit 13 outputs a vehicle speed detection signal. The circuit 3 outputs a traveling signal when an input is higher than a reference voltage VR and lower than a vehicle stoppage signal. A hand brake switch 21 provided in the circuit 7 is closed to output a use signal when the hand brake is used, and it is opened to output a non-use signal when the hand brake is not used. The circuit 9 which receives the output signals from the circuits 3 and 7 outputs a turning-off signal only in response to AND of the vehicle stoppage signal and the hand brake use signal, and outputs a turning-OFF signal in other cases. The circuit 5 controlls turning- ON and turning-OFF of the head lamps. |
