PURPOSE:To compensate the nonlinear property of a booster chopper by varying the slope of a sawtooth wave which is outputted from a sawtooth wave generator in response to the output of a voltage error amplifier. CONSTITUTION:A comparator 52 compares the output Ec of a voltage error amplifier 12 with the output of a sawtooth wave generator 51, thereby deciding the ON period of a semiconductor switch 3. The generator 51 can vary the slope of the output sawtooth wave in response to the output level Ec of the amplifier 51. In this manner the linear compensation of the booster chopper can be performed, and stable characteristics can be obtained even in the range of high voltage stepup ratio, thereby facilitating the setting of an optimum gain in a system. |
