PURPOSE:To eliminate the addition of a new tab when a received document is edited again, by receiving and storing also the information on the tab attached to the document when the document is received and stored. CONSTITUTION:The document under production and editing is stored in a document buffer memory SB13, and the tab information register No. attached to each line of the SB is stored in a tab No. register TNR14. At the same time, the contents of the tab information register used by the SB13 and the TNR14 are stored in a document tab register TBTS15. A tab control part TBC16 performs the control of a tab register TBT17 for storage of tab information, a temporary tab register TBTT18 which stores temporarily the tab information when it is read out or received as well as the comparison of tab registers. When a tab preserving key of a keyboard 6 is pressed down, the TBC16 records the storage contents of the TBT17 to a floppy disk FD4 via a floppy control part 2. When the document is received, a communication control part 7 receives the document, the tab No., the tab information, etc. via an MODEM8 and then transfers the storage contents of the FD4 to the TNR14 and the TBT15. |
