PURPOSE:To reduce an unsteady loss generated by the backwash of the guide vane and improve the efficiency of the water wheel by a method wherein slits, effecting the blow out of a liquid against a liner, are provided on the aft rim of the guide vane. CONSTITUTION:The slits 5 for blowing out the fluid are provided on the aft rim of the guide vane 3 and are communicated with a jet stream supplying source 6. A regulating valve 7 is provided between the slits 5 and the jet stream supplying source 6 and a command is given to the valve 7 so that a flow amount regulation may be effected by utilizing an operation mode signal 9 and a water level signal 10 in accordance with the operating condition of the water wheel. The flow speeds of a main stream and the backwash may be kept at substantially the same speed by the fluid blown out of the slits 5 and the unsteady property of the stream may be eliminated. |
