PURPOSE:To aim at the promotion of weight reduction and thinness as well as the reduction of manufacturing cost, by providing either the outside or inside of a glass fiber braided tube with a non-woven fabric consisting of a glass fiber, with regard to a storage battery tube used as the positive pole plate of a fibre clad type lead storage battery. CONSTITUTION:A storage battery tube 1 is constituted of a tube body of 9.0mm. in inner diameter and 0.35mm. in thickness by way of example, sticking a non- woven fabric 2 consisting of a glass fiber on the outside of a glass fiber braided tube 3. The non-woven fabric 2 is made up by the way of mixing an acrylic fiber of 5-25mu in mean diameter by 10-50wt% into an acid-proof, antioxidation glass fiber of 10mu or less in mean diameter, for example, 1.5mu in mean diameter, having a thickness of 0.2mm.. This non-woven fabric is to aim at preventing the spillage of an electrode active material and further takes a cushion effect to absorb expansion of the electrode active material by repetitions of charge and discharge. |
