<p>PURPOSE:To perform a dephosphorization treatment of a molten ferro alloy, by covering the surface thereof with a molten flux of a specified composition and by treating electrolytically said alloy with a cathode dipped therein and an anode of the molten ferror alloy. CONSTITUTION:A molten bath 2 of the ferro alloy such as ferro silicon is fed into a ladle 1 in addition to ferro manganese, ferro chrome, etc. of high carbon or low carbon content. The molten flux 3 consisting of one of >=2 kinds among alkaline earth metal salts of Ca, Mg, Ba etc. such as CaO-CaF2, CaO-CaCl2, CaCl2-CaF2-CaO or BaCl2-BaF2, MgCl2-MgF2 is laid thereon. The cathode 5 made of graphite is dipped into the flux 3 and DC voltage is impressed between the cathode 5 and the anode made of pure iron provided at the bottom of the ladle 1 and an electrolytic treatment is performed. Thereby, P in the bath 2 can be dephosphorized and removed.</p> |
