PURPOSE:To prevent the adherence of dust, by producing a new address when a head positioned by an indication given from a high-order device is positioned at the same address for a prescribed time or longer, then changing the position of the head. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic disk controller 200 latches one of plural mobile head type magnetic disk devices 300 by an indication of an upper processor 100, then starts the transfer of a signal with a designated address. Then a timer (not shown in the diagram) starts counting. The head address is changed for each lapse of a prescribed time, and the magnetic head is moved. This inhibits the long-time use of the same head, then a malfunction due to the adherence of dust is prevented. |
