PURPOSE:To reduce weight, loss and noise of the compressor and improve the durability thereof by a method wherein all of a crank shaft, bearings, a cylinder and a piston, which are constituting a compression mechanism, are constituted by ceramic materials having the same or the same degree of thermal expansion coefficient. CONSTITUTION:The crank shaft 7, the bearings 8, 8', the cylinder 9 and the piston 10, all of which are constituting the compression mechanism, are constituted by the ceramic materials such as silicon nitride (Si2N4), silicon carbide (SiC) or the like. The specific weights of the ceramic materials are about 2-4, therefore, the total weight of the compressor is reduced remarkably compared with the conventional compressor, electric power consumption may be reduced, generation of colliding sound or rubbing sound is reduced and noise may be reduced. The ceramic material is superior to metallic material in the hardness, the resistance to heat, the resistance to abrasion and the like thereof and, further, the ceramic materials having the same degree of thermal expansion coefficients will never bring the change of gaps at sliding parts due to the difference of thermal expansions of respective materials when the temperatures thereof are varied, therefore, more stabilized and highly reliable operation may be permitted. |
