The invention relates to a frying basket for an electrically heated deep fat fryer, comprising a pan with carrying bracket pivotally articulated thereto and the frying basket held in the pan. With the aid of a crank mechanism, which is in effective connection with the carrying bracket, the frying basket can be moved vertically in the pan by pivoting the carrying bracket.
