A device is proposed for damping acoustic frequency vibrations by means of a damping element (30) which produces a virtually rigid joint between a platform (32) and the component (33) subjected to the interfering vibrations, the damping element (30) being composed of sections (29; 31; 34; 35a; 35b; 36; 37; 38; 40; 42; 43; 44; 46; 47; 48; 50), and adjacent sections enclosing an angle such that the vibrations change their state at the corner zones thus formed and are thereby damped. <IMAGE>
