PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of the heat exchanger by a method wherein in the heat exchanger for recovering a carbonized combustible gas, an inner wall surface cleaners are made to slide vertically along the inner wall surface of the heat exchanger so that an additional dust removing operation is dispensed with. CONSTITUTION:A heat exchanger inlet cleaner 7 is provided at the upper part of a carbonized gas inlet hole 2, cooling pipe cleaners 10 are provided at the upper part of a group of cooling pipes and a craper 12 is arranged at the bottom of the heat exchanger 1. With the above structure, the dust adhered around the carbonized gas inlet 2 and the dust adhered around a pipe 9 are removed by the cleaner 7 and the cleaners 10, respectively, and the dust accumulated at the bottom of the heat exchanger is coolected in a discharge hole 6 by the scraper 12 togehter with heavy oils. As a result, no additional dust removing operation is required. |
