Two perforated plastic tubes concentrically mounted one inside the other are held together at both ends by welded-on plastic rings. Contaminated air is blown into the housing at the front open ring. Since the rear end of the filter is sealed, the air must escape laterally through the holes in the tubes. The air is thus forced past adsorbing or absorbing materials packed into the space between the two tubes and is purified as a result. These filters having a plastic housing have the advantage that they do not corrode. The mounting on the filter wall can be achieved either by screws or by threaded connectors, or by a rod passing through. The length of the filter housing and thus the capacity can be varied according to requirement. <IMAGE>
