PURPOSE:To enable the prevention of the mixture of colors of ink in an operation of bleeding air and in the state wherein an apparatus is not operated, by providing a means for intercepting air-bleeding suction channels connected to a plurality of different ink vessels. CONSTITUTION:A capping 12 having ink suction channels 11 and air suction channels 25 in an elastic cap 10 is arranged opposite to a recording head 9, and is moved forward and backward with the vertical motion of a lever 13 to be fitted closely to the head 9 and opened. Simultaneously, a hollow shaft 15 for ink and a hollow shaft 26 for air which constitute a suction intercepting mechanism are moved under the control of the lever. Moreover, a negative pressure source 7 is operated to perform the suction of ink and the bleeding if air from nozzles 21 and resistance filters 23. Now, when the lever 13 is depressed at the time of non-operation of the apparatus, ink and air are sucked into the suction channels 11 and 25, respectively, and are discharged through the hollow shafts 15 and 26. Next, when the lever 13 is returned to its home position, the sucked ink is not pushed back since a valve 31 of the negative pressure source 17 is thin, and the suction channels 11 and 25 are intercepted by the return of the hollow shafts 15 and 26, respectively. Accordingly, the mixture of colors of ink is not caused. |
