One-piece folding package for a suturing material provided with one or two needles, comprising two wall parts (11, 13) for fastening of the threads and an intermediate connecting wall part (12). In the folded state the wall parts (11, 12, 13) completely enclose most of the surgical threads (15), whereas the needles (15) are located in a zone which is protected by a separate covering flap (16) projecting from a wall part. The threads (15) are located individually on the two fastening wall parts (11, 13), the ends provided with needles (15) being retained in slots (26) of a foam strip (14). On opening of the package the fastening wall parts can be folded over such that the needles are lifted in two rows for easy gripping and removal from the package. <IMAGE>
