PURPOSE:To reduce the loss in a base drive circuit and to plan on shortening the OFF time of a transistor, by fluctuating the base current in proportion to the collector current of a transistor and keeping it in an optimum value. CONSTITUTION:When the collect current of a transistor 5 increaes, ths proportionate voltage is outputted from a current detector 4 and the wattage dissipation of a load ll is reduced. Thus the voltage Vb given from a power circuit 10 to a base drive circuit 8 is increased and the base current Ib of the transistor 5 increased. when the collector current of the transistor 5 decreases, the wattage dissipation of the load ll increases accordingly. Thus the voltage Vb given from the power circuit 10 to the base drive circuit 8 is increased and the base current Ib of the transistor 5 decreased.
