A valve for fluid materials, especially for viscous fluid materials, in which the outlet opening of a space to which the material is supplied via a supply line is closed in the closed position of a valve needle and is released in the open position of said valve needle. The material can pass from the space through the outlet opening into an outlet hole in a valve tip, and the valve needle can be displaced within a valve body by actuating devices. A central part, whose diameter is reduced in comparison with the diameter of the front part, is adjacent to the front part of the valve needle which closes the outlet opening. An end part of increased diameter is adjacent to said central part. <IMAGE>
