<p>An asphalt composition consisting essentially of a paving grade asphalt, between about 1 and about 10% by weight added sulfur, over and above the amount of any residual sulfur present in said asphalt, and between about 1 and about 35%, by weight, of a liquid petroleum hydrocarbon having a boiling point above about 200.degree.F, the composition possibly being present together with a water phase and an emulsifier. The composition provides softness in cold temperature conditions while maintaining stability to prevent it from becoming easily deformed or rutted by traffic in warm weather when used for example as a road surface patching material.</p> |
