PURPOSE:To obtain a polishing device having a simple structure, by sticking a guide jig onto a ferrule by making an optical axis of an optical fiber coincide with an axis of the inside circumferential surface of a guide rotating body, and making the inside circumferential surface of the guide rotating body contact with the surface of a spherical body of a polishing tool which rotates. CONSTITUTION:A guide jig 15 consists of a jig body 15a and a holding member 15b, and is held so as to be movable up and down. A fitting hole 15c of a ferrule 1 is provided to the jig body 15a and an inside circumferential surface 15d for guide is provided to the lower end part of the fitting hole 15c. The inside circumferential surface 15d is formed like a spherical body, and its radius is formed so as to be a little smaller than a radius of curvature of the spherical surface part of a polishing tool. Also, it is formed so that the center line passing through the spherical center of the inside circumferential surface 15d for guide coincides with an axis of the fitting hole 15c. |
