PURPOSE:To obtain high density and orientation effect and to make the surface of a drum smooth, by coating the outer circumferential surface of the drum with a magnetic recording medium, and then applying a magnetic field produced by a magnet from the cavity part in the disk part of the drum while rotating the drum slowly. CONSTITUTION:After the about 1mm. thickness outer circumferential surface 5D of a drum is coated with the magnetic recording medium 6, the drum 5 is held horizontally by a jig 7 for slow rotation and the magnet 8 is inserted into the cavity part 5C of the drum 5. Magnetic needlelike particles in the magnetic recording medium 6 are raised temporarily on the outer circumference 5D of the drum and fall down away from the magnet according to the rotation of the drum to face themselves in the circumferential direction on the outer circumferential 5D on the drum. After this process is carried out for a specific time, the magnetic recording medium 6 is dried to obtain a magnetic material film which has high density and a smooth surface and is oriented in the magnetic field. |
