PURPOSE:To provide a battery of high voltage and high energy density, by composing the battery of a cathode with a light metal as active material, a nonaqueous electrolyte and an anode with a chromium oxide CrOx as main active material and prescribing the value of the x within a specific range. CONSTITUTION:A chromium oxide, whose composition is between those of chromium trioxide CrO3 and chromium sesquioxide Cr2O3 and which is shown as CrOx where the value of the x is limited as 2.65>=x>=2.51, acts as an anode active material of high usefulness in an organic electrolyte. |
