PURPOSE:To obtain a hard mirror having a dead slender scope, by covering the circumferential face of a converging optical transmission body for constituting an observing optical system, with a coating member (including an air layer) of a low refractive index, and using it as an illuminating optical system, too. CONSTITUTION:Light from an illuminating light source 18 is transmitted through a light guide 17, travels toward the direction of an objective lens 6 from the circumferential face of a relay lens 7, and is made incident into the relay lens 7 at an incident angle in a prescribed range. The incident illuminating light is made incident to the circumferential face of the relay lens, but since the circumferential face is covered with an air layer (or a coating member of a low refractive index), the illuminating light repeats its reflection, is converged by the objective lens 6, is emitted from cover glass 8 and irradiates an object. The reflected light forms an image through the cover glass 8 and the objective lens 6, the image forming light is transmitted in the relay lens 7, forms an image on the rear end face, and goes into an observer's eye through an eyepiece 14. In an armored sheath 2, only the observing optical system is contained, therefore, a hard mirror having a dead slender scope is obtained. |
