The heat-insulating and ray-reflecting plate has its heat-insulation provided by a layer of vertical air passages sealed off from each other and open at the ends. The insulation is typically of sandwich material with an intermediate layer of corrugated paper. Horizontal cuts in the rear side of the layer allow bending towards the front during insertion into position on a wall behind a radiator.
