PURPOSE:To improve the low-temperature characteristics and the heavy-load electric- discharge characteristics by constituting a separator interposed between a positive electrode and an electrolyte absorbing substance which makes contact with a negative electrode, with the continuously porous regenerated cellulose film having the three-dimensional structure and made of cellulose acetate serving as its raw material or with a microporous polyolefin film. CONSTITUTION:A separator 4 interposed between a positive electrode 1 and an electrolyte absorbing substance 3 such one as made of vinylon-rayon mixed paper or nonwoven fabric etc. and making contact with a negative electrode 2, consists of the regenerated cellulose film 40 which is made of cellulose acetate serving as its raw material and composed of the continuous porous substance having the three-dimensional structure, it possesses a porosity of 50-80% and a hole diameter of 0.1mu or less. Such a film 40 possesses also superior ion transmissivity, and its low-temperature characteristics and heavy-load electric-discharge characteristics are improved markedly. In the case when active substance such as silver oxide is used it is preferable that the separator 4 is composed of the above-mentioned porous regenerated cellulose film 40 and the polyolefin film 40 such as a microporous polypropylene film, and the direct contact between the positive electrode 1 and the porous cellulose film 40 is prevented by the abovementioned polyolefin film 400. |
