PURPOSE:To easily perform the rearrangement of disk storage regions and the protection of data, by adding a mechanism which is automatically capable of the rearrangement and buck-up of the disk storage regions. CONSTITUTION:When a writing instruction is given to a magnetic disk device, the generation of a writing request is informed to a disk monitor part 4. A using condition monitoring part 4a within the part 4 checks the using condition within the disk storage by the information on the generation of the writing request. In case a vermiculatd region reaches a fixed level, the execution of rearrangement is indicated to a rearrangement executing part 4b. If the vermiculated region is under a fixed level, an elapsed period monitor part 4c is started. Then the execution of back-up is indicated to a back-up executing part 4d if a fixed period has elapsed. A rearrangement/back-up storage part is used to execute the rearrangement and back-up. |
