A safety lock is equipped with tumblers, with a slide, with a locking lever which, in the blocking position, prevents an opening movement of a lock bolt and which, in the release position for the locked bolt, is pivotable by means of a magnet excitable electrically by the bank, and with an additional mechanical unlocking device by means of a bank key. The locking lever consisting of magnetisable material is connected to the lock bolt via a pivot pin. A permanent magnet is arranged on the bolt nose in the pivoting range of the locking lever. Magnetisable stop parts of the slide are located in the region of the permanent magnet and of the locking lever. Arranged in the lock latch, in the range of the magnetic field of the permanent magnet, is a contact switch which reacts to changes in the magnetic flux. The electrically excitable magnet, after being activated, attracts the locking lever and thus cancels the opening block for the lock bolt.
