PURPOSE:To obtain a feed having a high nutritive value and palatability as a feed, by fermenting a sewage sludge aerobially, exterminating pathogenic germs, producing mushrooms, and obtaining the feed. CONSTITUTION:A chaff, sawdust, tree bark, etc. which are agricultural and forestry wastes are added to a sewage sludge recovered from a sewage disposal plant, and the moisture content is adjusted. The resultant mixture is then aerobialy fermented to give a compost of the sewage sludge. Mushrooms are cultivated in the compost of the sewage sludge as a culture medium to decompose cellulose and lignin which are slightly decomposable materials in the compost and synthesize proteins, and give a good fertilizer. Mushrooms are then produced and collected from the compost, and the culture medium residues after the harvesting are used as a feed for domestic animals. |
