An electrical force-transmission system in the form of a transformer has a first core sub-element with two or more regions, and a second core sub-element which can be moved relative to the first core sub-element and forms a flow path between the regions of small magnetic reluctance. Primary windings are wound around the first sub- element of the core, and secondary windings are wound around the second sub-element. The regions may extend along a path on which the force is to be transmitted and this path may be a straight line, curved or of circular shape.
