Method and device for producing multiple copies in rapid succession. The optical imaging beam path is decomposed for this purpose into component beams. Each component beam is assigned a process station. The process stations operate simultaneously and therefore produce in accordance with their number a multiplied output of copies per unit time. Colour copies are obtained if colour filters are arranged in the component beams and appropriate colour toners are provided in the process stations.
