PURPOSE:To suppress the generation of variation in the performance of a dry cell by securing an excellently close contact between a carbon bar and a positive mixture by melting a wax into the positive mixture, and after that, pressing and fitting the carbon bar again into the positive mixture before a sealing body is attached to the carbon bar. CONSTITUTION:A wax layer is formed on at least a surface of a carbon bar 5 which faces a positive mixture 3. After the carbon bar 5 is pressed and fitted into the positive mixture 3, the carbon bar 5 is heated so as to melt the wax into the positive mixture 3. After that, before a sealing body is attached to the carbon bar 5, the carbon bar 5 is again pressed and fitted into the positive mixture 3. As the wax used for forming the wax layer on the surface of the carbon bar 5, paraffin wax, microcrystalline wax or the like can be given as an example. |
