PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic receptor high in durability and sensitivity, and suitable for repeating uses, by adding a bisazo compd. to a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer of an electrophotographic receptor contains a bisazo compd. of formulaIin which Ar1, Ar2 are each an optionally substd. aromatic hydrocarbon group; A is a group of formulae II-V; Y is H, OH, carboxy, sulfo, optionally substd. carbamoyl or sulfamoyl, or the like; Z is an atomic group needed to complete an optionally substd. aromatic or hetero ring; R1 is H, carboxy, or optionally substd. alkyl or carbamoyl, cyano, or the like; R2 is optionally substd. aryl; and R3 is optionally substd. alkyl or aralkyl or aryl. The obtained photoreceptor has high sensitivity, small residual potential, and superior durability, and these characteristics are not changed even after repeated uses. |
