PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a multiple light signal generator in due consideration of a polarization state by using a linear polarizer which rotates around an optical path and a solid-state electrooptic element whose driving voltage is feely variable. CONSTITUTION:At an input part 1 formed of the linear polarizer which rotates around the optical path L, a polarization-axis direction is selected freely to obtain desired polarized incident light. Then, a control part 2 equipped with the solid-state electrooptic element 3 whose Kerr effect is controlled according to a control voltage from an element driving electric power source 4 imposes intensity modulation on said polarized light. Thus, the constitution of the multiple light signal generator which includes less constituent elements and takes the polarization state into consideration is simplified. |
