PURPOSE:To allow powdered substance to be discharged as well as to accelerate warming-up of an engine at its start in cold weather, by making a group of partial cylinders to which fuel supply is cut, operate as a pneumatic compressor. CONSTITUTION:When powdered substance in a tank 26 is discharged, a discharge operating switch 46 is closed to shut a circuit 45. Then each cylinder in the lefthand bank acts as a pneumatic compressor, and the compressed air is introduced into the bottom part 26a of a tank 26 via an electromagnetic valve 21 and a branch passage 20, discharging outward the powdered substance via a switching valve 29 and a duct 28. When an engine 1 is started in cold weather, a warming-up switch 42 is closed to shut a circuit 42. Then each cylinder in the lefthand bank 2 acts as a pneumatic compressor, and the load to the cylinder increases the fuel supply to each cylinder in the righthand bank 3, increasing the calorific value of a combustion chamber and accelerating warming-up of the engine 1. |
