FUEL ASSEMBLY LOCKING APPARATUS

A fuel assembly locking apparatus comprising a rotatable plate (44) adapted to engage all four legs of the bottom nozzle of a fuel assembly (10) for uniformly holding the fuel assembly (10) while the spent fuel rods (20) are pulled from the fuel assembly (10). The rotatable plate (44) has four notched corners arranged to be rotated over a ledge (56) on each leg (54) of the bottom nozzle (14) of the fuel assembly (10) thereby preventing movement of the fuel assembly (10).
