摘要 PURPOSE:To simplify the structure, reduce access time and achieve high-speed operation by providing a read unit separately from a photosensitive unit in each picture element constituting a charge injector. CONSTITUTION:A charge injector consists of light receiving surface 50, on which many picture elements are provided, decoders 10 and 20, which designate each picture element 1, buffer amplifier 7 and reset switch 8. In this structure, each picture element 1 is provided with two electrodes 2X and 2Y, which are to become a read unit. But they are not used for photoelectric conversion. Separately from these, photosensitive electrode Gp, which is to become a photosensitive unit is formed. These electrodes are connected in parallel and are brought out to terminal 19 via bus S. To accomplish this structure, electrodes 2X and 2Y of the read unit and electrode Gp of the photosensitive unit are formed on semiconductor substrate 100 by burying them in insulating film 101, and the entier surface is covered with light shielding film 102. Light receiving film W is opened on electrode Gp, and electrode Gp is exposed. By this, the access time reading the picture image on picture element 1 is greatly reduced.
