PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition capable of suppressing the hydrogen brittleness of steel and exhibiting a rust preventing effect after pickling by adding the same in a pickling bath, containing N-alkyltrimethylenediamine and the polyoxyethylene adduct thereof each in a specified ratio and comprising the balance of water. CONSTITUTION:A rust preventing and hydrogen brittleness controlling agent composition consists of, on the wt. basis, 5-10% N-alkyltrimethylenediamine, 5-10% polyoxyethylene adduct of N-alkyltrimethylenediamine, 0.05-0.5% perfluoroalkyltrimethylammonium, 0.1-1% polyoxyehylene alkyl ether, 10-20% isoproyl alcohol and the balance of water. When this composition is dissolved in a pickling bath in an amount of 0.5-2wt%, the hydrogen absorption of steel in a pickling process is strongly suppressed. In addition, this composition exhibits a hydrogen brittleness controlling effect not attained by a known pickling inhibitor and has an effect of inhibiting rusting of the surface of steel after pickling over a long period of time. |
