PURPOSE:To smoothly make mixed gasflow out of a chamber, and to shorten the flames quenching time, in the titled apparatus, by providing an opening which is opened and closed according to the elevating movement of a wick in the upper part of a guide cylinder, and a ring-formed chamber is provided to the outer side of a guide cylinder on the opposite side of a wick, while the floor surface of a chamber and the lower end of an opening is designed to be about the same height. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical guide cylinder 2 is provided passing through a fuel tank 1, and a cylindrical wick 4 is provided in a vertically movable manner between both guide cylinders 2 and 3, as well as providing a cylindrical guide cylinder 3 to the outer side of a guide cylinder 2 having a predetermined interval. A ring-formed opening 5 is provided to the upper part of a guide cylinder 3, and a ring-formed chamber 6 is provided to the outer side of a guide cylinder 3 that is the opposite side of the wick 4 on the side of an opening 5, and a plurality of air inlet ports 8 are provided to the chamber 6. With such an arrangement, the wick 4 is elevated and ignited at the time of combustion, while the wick 4 is descended lower than the opening 5 at the time of flame extinction. In this case, the mixed gas is smoothly and quickly discharged out of the chamber 6 after flames are extinguished, so that the quenching time of a combustor is shortened, because the floor surface of the chamber 6 and the lower end of an opening 5 are designed to be about the same height. |
