PURPOSE:To improve modulation to reduce read errors, by allowing a base film, where a magnetic paint is coated, to run on the magnetic field, which is magnetized obliquely in the longitudinal direction, to orient magnetic powder in an undried coated film at random. CONSTITUTION:While the magnetic paint coated onto a base film 1 is not dried yet, the base film 1 is allowed to run on a magnetic field 6, which is formed on the surface of an endless belt 5 and has respective magnetic sections 7 magnetized obliquely in the running direction, to orient the magnetic powder in an undried coated film 4 at random, and a disc is stamped out after heating and drying the magnetic paint. In an obtained magnetic disc, the modulation is reduced, and the read error due to output variance is reduced. The running speed of the endless belt 5 is determined by the running speed of the base film 1, the viscosity of the magnetic paint, and the magnitude of the magnetic field. |
