A device to lock at least one dialling key on push-button telephones is described. This comprises a hood (30), which is firmly bolted by means of a bolt (50) above the keypad. The bolt is secured by means of a lock (32). The bolt (50) engages in the narrow gap between a key (12) and the covering panel (26) surrounding it, which is held from behind. To simplify the insertion of the bolt (50) into the narrow gap, the key (12) which defines the gap is depressed and then released again by a cam (36, 38). <IMAGE>
