The invention relates to a servo spool valve (24) with at least two working positions. The valve housing has a valve bore (58) with control openings (54, 56), fixed in relation to the housing, in which a valve spool (60) can be displaced, bearing control collars (66, 68) interacting with the control openings (54, 56). Two servo pistons serve for the movement of the valve spool (60) in both directions. The servo pistons are alternatively pressurised and relieved with the aid of a remote-controllable pilot control valve (26). The control openings (54, 56) fixed in relation to the housing are provided in valve inserts (40, 42) which are arranged at an axial spacing, symmetrically to the centre plane of the housing, and in which the valve bore (58) is formed and by which the working spaces for the servo pistons are delimited. The valve housing has at least one housing main body (30) and end plates (32, 34) which close the latter. A vent valve (102, 106) with a large outflow cross-section is arranged in at least one of the end plates (32, 34). <IMAGE>
