PURPOSE:To measure accurately the intensity of low afterglow, by measuring afterglow time from a phosphor through an amplifier adjusted so as to saturate its output by the lowest peak brightness of the afterglow. CONSTITUTION:A luminous device 3 is driven by a timing pulse signal P1 generating from a CPU 10 to excite a phosphor of the tip end of an optical fiber 1. The afterglow of the phosphor 2 is detected by a photodetecting device 5 and it is amplified by an amplifier circuit 8, and it is held in a sample holding circuit 7 by a timing pulse P2. An output of the circuit 7 is amplified by the circuit 8 and is converted by an A/D converter 12 to store in an RAM 11. An amplification degree of the circuit 8 is adjusted to amplify to a saturated level in the case when an input is more than a prescribed level. Temperature is calculated by calculating the afterglow time stored in the RAM 1 from the data obtained in plural number of times. |
