<p>The remote control system uses a portable radio operating at a frequency of 27 Megahertz. A servo-relay mechanism connected to the carburrettor controls acceleration and deceleration of the engine, and consequently engagement and disengagement of a centrifugal clutch. A servo-motor controls the direction of the mower. The centrifugal clutch may be linked to the engine by a transmission belt or chain. The direction of the mower is determined by one or more steering wheels linked by a lever mechanism to the servo-motor. A lever on the radio box provides movement in one direction for acceleration, and deceleration, and at right angles for steering to the left and right.</p> |
